Hwange Colliery Company limited explores mines, processes and markets coal, coke and associated by-products in a sustainable manner. Our quality policy is implemented through a quality Management System which is based on ISO 9001: 2008. The statement shall be communicated to all employees and reviewed for continuing suitability. The aim of this policy is to ensure that the company is and remains:

Customer focused

We recognize that customers have a choice, and will seek other suppliers if we do not satisfy their requirements.

We shall solicit customer input on how to improve product quality. Customer inputs ultimately define what they expect to buy.

We recognize that coal is a natural product liable to natural viability and shall take all measures to manage and to control this variation within customer’s specifications.

Our marketing department shall liaise closely with production department to ensure that commitments to customers are synchronized with production capacity. We shall maintain system that guarantee timeous delivery of product to all our customers

Consistent in realizing continual improvement

We shall strive to monitor benchmark and continually improve our business, products and shall service, organization and employee’s performance. Quality review meeting shall be held quarterly.

Causes of products non-conformance shall be identified and addressed and lessons learnt from them used as input into the planning process for subsequent production cycles.
