Mr. Munashe Shava

(Hwange Colliery Company Administrator)

Munashe Shava is an accomplished mining executive with great wealth of expertise across various mineral portfolios in Zimbabwe and the Southern Africa. He has vast knowledge of greenfield and brownfield mining start-ups.

Mr Shava is currently the Chief Executive Officer  of Great Dyke Investments and Kuvimba Mining House Head of Cluster –  PGMs. He was appointed Hwange Colliery Company Assistant Administrator in November 2018 and subsequently Administrator in 2022.

He is Chairman of the board at Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company and serves as the Second Vice President of the Zimbabwe Chamber of Mines (CoM) following his election in June 2023 at the Chamber AGM. He is an associate member of the Zimbabwe School of Mines and a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

He started his mining career with the Kinross Gold Group where he worked for five years up to Mine Overseer level. He then later worked for Anglo American group as Mine Superintendent, Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Zimplats) as Senior Mining Engineer, River Ranch Diamond Mine as Mine Manager, then General Manager, Noventa Ltd (Mozambique) as General Manager, Marange Resources as Mine Manager then General Manager, Apex Minerals as General Manager and CEO.

His qualifications include a Master of Science in Leadership and Change Management from Leeds Becket University UK, an advanced Certificate in Project Management from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, a Mining Engineering Diploma from Zimbabwe School of Mines as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership from Midlands State University.


Ms. Mutsa Mollie Jean Remba

Ms. Mutsa Remba has served as Managing Partner of Dube, Manikai & Hwacha Legal Practitioners, a law firm which has been previously ranked internationally as one of the top Business Law Firms in Zimbabwe by Chambers and Partners (“DMH”).

She has vast experience in commercial law, mining law and financial services law. She has worked on reconstructions, corporate restructurings, and business rescue operations. She was part of the team that advised on the reconstruction of SMM Holdings and its subsidiaries.

She is involved in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, debt restructuring, schemes of arrangement and competition law.

In trade finance, Mutsa is part of the team that renders continuing advice to multi-lateral lenders in facilities to the Government of Zimbabwe, financial institutions, and companies in different sectors of the country’s economy.

Mutsa also assists foreign clients investing in Zimbabwe on compliance issues, establishment of corporations in Zimbabwe right through to divestment. She has acquired skills in project-based work in construction and information technology, and is currently working on engineering, procurement, and construction (“EPC”) Contracts and Power and Construction Projects.

Having a prosecutorial background with the Ministry of Justice prior to joining DMH, Mutsa is a capable commercial law litigator and has over 12 years litigation experience in the High Court of Zimbabwe.

She is a member – Law Society of Zimbabwe and a member of Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association. Mutsa holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), LLB from the University of Zimbabwe.
